About Me

I’m on a mission to make client listening accessible and easy to implement for businesses of all sizes. I help you understand when and how to best listen to your clients and then, just as importantly, how to interpret and use the feedback you receive to keep your clients happy, increase revenue and win new business.

My career, which spans both the public and private sectors, began in the civil service. It included a stint in Westminster as Private Secretary to a government minister before I found my true calling in relationship marketing while working in market-leading accountancy firms.

During my six years-plus at Deloitte I was responsible for a number of initiatives that positioned the firm as the advisor of choice for UK public sector organisations. Over my four years at BDO, I led firm-wide campaigns and sponsorships, undertook a secondment to India and developed BDO’s ‘Exceptional Client Service’ agenda which saw the firm ranked as the leader for client service among its competitors.

I absolutely loved this role so it was only natural, when I went freelance so I could better meet the needs of my young family, that I would make this area the focus of my work.

“Anna is flexible, responsible and frankly lovely to deal with…We have established a brilliant client listening programme…which is being so well received internally. She was also a hit with our clients when she did some qualitative research for us.”

My Approach

Flexible — As an independent freelancer with limited overheads, I’m able to combine the knowledge and experience I gained working with leading brands in the professional services sector and adapt it meet to the needs, budgets and timescales of clients large and small, from a solo bookkeeper, to a national law firm. And you have the peace of mind knowing I’ll be the one working on your project, from start to finish.

Connected — My marketing background means I’m not just skilled at the feedback gathering element of client listening but can also see the bigger picture. I connect the dots that turn feedback into valuable insight which can then drive actions that make a real difference to your bottom line. And on the subject of another kind of connectedness…I have a wide-reaching professional network of connections regionally (in my home base in the South West of England), nationally and internationally. This makes it easy for me to source exactly the right sort of support for any projects with additional remit.

Accomplished — A Chartered Marketer and member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, I’m also the Regional Director of Exeter’s PM Forum, a membership body for Marketing and Business Development professionals working in professional services firms.

Committed to offering an excellent service, I practise what I preach by asking for feedback so I can continue to improve!
